Employability skills, often referred to as Workplace or Career Readiness skills, have for many years been a recognizable component of standards and curriculum in all career and technical education (CTE) programs. The Workplace Readiness Standards are designed to ensure students graduate from high school properly prepared with skills employers prioritize as the most important. The standards provide a means through which students may acquire and exhibit leadership qualities, as leadership development principles are embedded in most, if not all, of the standards.

The Workplace Readiness Assessment (WRA) measures understanding of the career readiness standards in personal, professional, and technical knowledge and skills and is required for Idaho CTE students. CTE capstone students and seniors enrolled in at least their second CTE course (grades 9-12) should take the WRA. This includes any/all CTE courses, and some students may be enrolled in courses from different CTE program areas.

"...for those who work in science or technology or who are going to take a job in a field related to or highly infused with STEM, I did some interesting calculations for my research. Based on the rate at which knowledge is increasing and the rate at which knowledge is decaying, I calculated that about 15 percent of what we know today is likely to be relevant in five years.

Okay, and that is not the number fifty—that is the number fifteen, as in between 10 and 20 percent. And here is the kicker: we don’t even know which 15 percent this is..."

Thank you for coming back for a second day of tech learning!! If you have ANY questions, please use the JUST ASK button. Mrs. LaMarche will be focusing on her helpdesk students today.
  • THANK YOU SO MUCH for being patient while we get our domain controllers back online and our first of the year tech projects worked out.
  • THANK YOU SO MUCH for being patient while students are recovering lost passwords and collecting chromebooks
  • If you havne't finished the "Day One" form please do this first thing today. Its important to make sure you are logged in to your google account, the MY TFSD, issued by the school. This will allow you to have a receipt once your form is finished. This form will be your very first artifact.
  • If you have comleted the day one form jump right into learning AI with Product School.
  • Mrs. LaMarche needs to focus on Help Desk students, today. We have a few IMMEDIATE HELP DESK projets we will be completeing this first week of class. THANK YOU FOR BEING AUTONOMOUS! 🙌🙌🙌

Welcome to Class! Please take a few moments to tell me about yourself by filling out the form above (big blue button above).  Once you have submitted your response, you will be sent a receipt with your answers via email.  Please make sure you keep this receipt as you will be adding this to your Tech Portfolio. It's possible you might need to check your spam folder.

Please keep in mind in addition to your class, Mrs. LaMarche is also teaching another class. Often other student techs will be working on projects to help inprove our school, Esports, programming, web development, computer networking, repair and support -- along with everything in between.  Think of your time in INTRO as a baby step to more hands on learning..  We will need to work together.

DO YOU HAVE A QUESTION? Please ask if you have questions.  You might consider asking the person next to you if you have a question or you can always use the JUST ASK BUTTON.  By using the "Just ask Button" you help add to the data base of questions. There is always an answer...  Use your resources. Use your tools.   The thing I LOVE MOST about tech is the constant upgrades, updates, and changes.   To love tech is to love change!!  To love tech is to "Not know EVERYTHING" but know there are a lot of right solutions and a lot of right ways of getting a tech job done.

Why do you think tech companies look for certifications on job applications?  Why might you want to include tech certificates on your resume?

When you complete your survey please start making account log-ins for:

  • Adobe -  Learn some fun Creative Cloud tools
  • Sololearn - a few things about code - many micro certs for all things development
  • Product School - AI micro cert

Then jump right in! Get started learning on any of the above options.  Did you choose photoshop? What about learning a little bit about code? How long will it take you to get your first Cert?!  (Cert is short for certficate)
